About The Haunting of Hill House
Shirley Jackson’s The Haunting of Hill House has been hailed as a perfect work of unnerving terror since its original publication in 1959. It is the story of four seekers who arrive at a notoriously unfriendly place called Hill House. At first, their stay seems destined to be merely a spooky encounter with inexplicable phenomena. But Hill House is gathering its powers and soon it will choose one of them to make its own.

About Author Shirely Jackson
Shirley Jackson remains one of America’s most influential authors and a celebrated writer of horror. She is most often associated in readers’ minds with the haunting short story, The Lottery, which was originally published in 1948 and has since become a frequently anthologized American classic, and the haunting novel, We Have Always Lived in the Castle. Although a popular writer in her time, her work has received increasing attention from literary critics in recent years. Her work had a direct impact on the horror genre, and directly influenced writers such as Stephen King, Nigel Kneale, and Richard Matheson.
